Locate the rubber bump stops for the hood on each side near the headlights.

Find a way to secure the stop and drill through the middle with a small bit, and increase bit size to bore out the center of the bump stop.

Next cut half of the top section off.

Now thread the shaft through the bump stop. It should be fairly tight and take some work to thread through.

It will be easier to drill if you make a divot first with a punch tool.

Then with a small bit drill a pilot hole.

Next we will be using a 1 and 1/4 inch metal hole saw. Make sure the pilot bit is adjusted so that it doesnt go all the way through the hood.

after cut you can use some sandpaper or a dremmel to smooth the edges of the hole if you want.

Next take out the shaft again, unthread it 10 turns, and then screw the bumpstop back in halfway.

Now stick a piece of electrical tape to the shaft.

Cut the tape around the shaft.

Close the hood and slightly press in the area of the shaft and the tape will transfer to the inside of the hood.

Now a uni bit is expensive but will make the rest of the job really easy. This puppy cost me nearly $40. If you decide to get one make sure you get one that goes up to 3/4 inch. That is the size hole we will be drilling.
